Grenoble Alpes Isere Airport is the closest airport with a 2 hour and 40 minute transfer time. After that, Lyon St Exupery Airport is 3 hours away.
The nearest railway station is Bourg St Maurice Station, which is only 35 minutes from the resort. A coach is available to take you from the station to the La Rosiere ski area.
The resort was developed in the early 1950s and remains relatively small which has allowed it to retain its charm. Situated in the San Bernado domain, which is the only Franco-Italian ski area in the Northern Alps, the La Rosiere sits at the foot of Mont Blanc which means that it benefits from favourable weather flows and is often in the top 5 resorts for the best snowfall in the Alps.
This domain offers a range of exciting activities, one being the Village Igloo where you can enjoy a Savoyard lunch or dinner in a giant igloo that has been carved into the ice. This authentic experience is not one to be missed! There is also the Mont-Valaisian freeride area where thrill seekers can explore unmarked terrain.
For non-skiers, there’s also plenty of other activities to do. There is now a 5km permanent running trail which means that you can run safely alongside the breathtaking mountain views. Or, if you don’t fancy running, try the ‘X-TREME luge’ where you can ride down a 700m circuit at a speed of up to 45km/h!
This is a true family resort as it is accessible to visitors of any age and ability level. For kids there's the ‘Little Saint-Bernard Adventure Trail’ which is a fun green piste through the woods and once they feel more confident they can move onto the blue piste ‘The Little Saint-Bernard Funcross’.
For beginners, there are a variety of other green and blue pistes available to offer you a more gentle introduction to the sport. For more experienced skiers there are plenty of red and black pistes for you to test your true skill as well as give you an adrenaline boost.
