Indonesia is a big country, and when you only have 2 weeks to spend on holiday there, you need to allocate time wisely to see the best parts of the country. However, it’s important to not fill up your time too much as that can be quite stressful. In this recommendation piece, we will suggest an itinerary focused around a relaxing holiday compared to a hectic one with too many things to do. Let’s begin!

Day 1-4: Start with a Relaxing Trip to Bintan

If you are coming from Singapore, Bintan is merely an hour away with a ferry ride, which makes travelling to Bintan a hassle-free experience. If you’re wondering where to stay in Bintan, then the answer is definitely Club Med Bintan Island. Our all-inclusive package will ensure your Indonesia trip is as relaxing as possible because you won’t have to hunt for places to eat or things to do because a lot of things are onsite.

Don’t think that you don’t have opportunities to see Bintan though; Club Med Bintan understands you want to travel around the island as well. That’s why there are a number of excursions you can partake in at an extra cost where everything will be handled for you. Visit attractions such as Tanjung Pinang, the mangrove river, Senggarang fishing village and more through organised, well-regarded tours that won’t waste your time too.

Day 5-7: Visit Jakarta, The Nation’s Capital

Assuming you travelled in from Bintan the evening before by flight, spending 3 days and 3 nights in Jakarta will give you enough time to check out how things are in this capital city. This bustling city has a number of attractions you should add to your itinerary to better understand Indonesia’s culture and traditions, including the National Museum, the Jakarta War Cemetary, Museum Wayang, Kota Tua, and the National Gallery of Indonesia. Of course, there are also some less heavy tourist options for you to visit if you’re not much of a history buff; these options include attractions such as Jin De Yuan Temple, Taman Suropati, Dunia Fantasi, Ancol Beach, and Ragunan Zoo. Other than the historical sites, Jakarta has almost the same offerings as most major Asian cities which is why the stopover here need not be too long. Just a tip: the most convenient way to travel around is via Jakarta’s integrated bus line called TransJakarta!

Day 8-10: Visit Lovely Yogyakarta to Step Back in Time

While Bali is well-known for its impressive traditional architecture and serene environment, a similar environment can be found in Yogyakarta, which is also known as Jogja. Spending two nights here is adequate for you go around Yogyakarta city centre to visit nearby attractions, as well as visit Prambanan and Borobudur Temples, which are the main reasons people come to Jogja. In the city centre, use a becak which is the local trishaw to go around visiting attractions like the Keraton Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat, Taman Sari, Jalan Malioboro, and Sono-Budoyo Museum. The trips to Prambanan and Borobudur will take an entire day each due to the size of the attractions, so plan accordingly. Don’t forget to bring back some batik from Jogja as it is one of the city’s specialities

Day 11-14: End Your Trip at Peaceful, Prosperous Bali

Bali is the perfect final destination to end your two-week trip as it is very different from the rest of Indonesia in terms of its cultural offerings. As with where to stay in Bintan, the question of where to stay in Bali is simple: Club Med Bali. If you stay with us, you will receive the same convenience and warm hospitality that you did in Club Med Bintan, which will make your trip’s ending a memorable and pleasant one.

When in Bali, it’s best to spend most of your trip away from the bustle of Kuta, and instead visit places like Ubud, Seminyak, Nusa Dua, and Jimbaran. Some of the must-visit attractions include Tanah Lot, Tegalalang rice terraces, Tirta Empul, Uluwatu Temple, Ubud Royal Palace, Nusa Penida, and Lembongan Island. If you stay with us at Club Med Bali, there are excursions you can join that go to these attractions, so be sure to inquire or even book your spots ahead when you book your package.

Once all of the above is done, all that’s left is for you to pack your bags and fly from Bali’s airport back home, wherever home is to you. Hopefully, you will go home with your camera roll full of beautiful pictures, and a heart that’s full from the relaxation and joy brought on by your Indonesian travels!
