Things to do in Guadeloupe

A stay full of poetry, to discover the landscapes of Guadeloupe

"Butterfly Island" seduces with its wild beaches and preserved forests. Start your all-inclusive stay in Guadeloupe with the nature reserves of Petite-Terre and Désirade. This protected marine and land area, with typical Caribbean flora and fauna, is a summary of Guadeloupe. Cross Grande-Terre and its cane fields to reach Basse-Terre and its diversity of landscapes. The mangroves and coconut palms, the tropical forest and the reliefs of La Soufrière give your stay an air of adventure. On the slopes of the Soufrière crater, treat yourself to a 360° view as far as Marie-Galante and Grande-Terre.

Beautiful islands in the sea, a paradise on earth

This prodigious nature is at the service of your relaxation. During your all-inclusive stay in Guadeloupe, discover the plantations, translucent waters and beaches of Marie-Galante, before setting off for a scuba dive to meet dolphins and turtles. Back at your Club Med La Caravelle resort in Grande-Terre, follow the south coast and bask in the sun on the famous beaches of Le Gosier or La Caravelle. Between two tanning sessions, you can exercise your swing during your stay in Guadeloupe: the Saint-François golf course is just 30 minutes from your Club Med La Caravelle resort.

Guadeloupe, a stay at the heart of Creole culture

After getting to know the landscapes of Guadeloupe, embark at Point-à-Pitre aboard Club Med 2 and set off to discover Creole culture. Familiarize yourself with the typical and colonial architecture of the house of Saint-John Perse, get drunk on the smells and colors of spices from the markets, and succumb to the sweet scent of rum from the Trois Rivières plantation. For even more flavors during your stay in Guadeloupe, celebrate gastronomy during the Fête des cooks in Pointe-à-Pitre and taste the local dishes: stuffed crabs, blood sausages or crayfish bushes.

Exceptional natural landscapes

To continue your journey within Butterfly Island, go to Basse-Terre to discover a large-scale natural treasure! To the south, La Soufrière awaits you. It is a volcano lodged between sea and mountain whose summit of 1,467 meters above sea level happens to be the tallest in Guadeloupe. On the program: breathtaking wild landscapes and lush vegetation. You can access this exceptional site located in the national park by hiking and then end your excursion in a bath heated by the volcano to relax!

A stopover in Basse-Terre

Continue your journey to the northwest of Basse-Terre to reach Deshaies, a small fishing village with local charm. Here, Caribbean-style houses litter the coast and stunning beaches surround the town. But above all, do not miss the famous Botanical Garden of Deshaies. This 7 hectare green space and former property of Coluche is home to many specimens of animals and plants. With more than 15 themes, this garden is an ideal activity to delight the senses of young and old alike.
