Indonesia: a dream scuba diving destination
Warm waters and seabed rich in wonders, Indonesia is the diving destination par excellence. To take full advantage of your forays into the Indian Ocean, it is best to leave during the dry season, that is to say between April and October. It is during this period that you will benefit from ideal visibility between 10 and 30 meters.
Sumatra, Borneo or the island of Bintan are located in an equatorial zone. Like the famous Bali, they also offer beautiful diving conditions. As far as the water temperature is concerned, don't worry: the average annual temperature is 27°C everywhere in Indonesia, except for the depths of Nusa Penida, which can drop to 20°C.
Learn to surf in BaliAfter diving in Indonesia, it's time for outdoor activities and sensations, with its surf version! With the winds coming from the Indian Ocean, the surf spots are located in the southern part of the island and on the northwest coast of Nusa Lembongan. During the dry season from April to September, the west coast offers the best waves. Kuta Beach is a spot suitable for all levels, for the more experienced.

BALINESE DIVES WITH AMED, JEMELUK, TULAMBEN AND SELANG
While the beauty of Indonesia's beaches is often praised, the beauty of the seabed has nothing to envy. Diving in Bali will thus be an authentic immersion in the discovery of a fauna and flora of many colours. Whether you are scuba diving or snorkeling, you will inevitably discover a diving spot for you.
Located on the east coast of Bali, the resort of Amed is punctuated by small grey sand beaches. Excellent diving and snorkeling sites line the coast, such as: Jemeluk, Lipah and Selang. They offer coral valleys, drop offs lined with hard and soft corals, and above all countless fish.
In Jemeluk, the area is protected to preserve the live corals. The beginning of the dive is sandy and sees many eels. You will then glide deeper to reach the coral garden with seahorses, frogfish and other mysterious creatures. The transparency of the water is surprising. The show unfolds before your eyes at a shallow depth of between 2 and 10 meters. Seize the perfect opportunity to take unforgettable pictures!
Located on the east coast of Bali, the wreck of the American cargo ship is the main attraction of Tulamben, and is one of Indonesia's most popular dive sites. Begin your descent to the boat and you will see the stern emerge from the depths, encrusted with coral and surrounded by a dozen species of colorful fish. The boat is 100 m long, but its hull is broken in several places. The most interesting parts are between 15 and 30 metres deep. To explore the entire wreck, two dives are necessary.
Selang is a small island with a rather dense current, it is reserved for experienced divers. Here, make way for tuna and hammerhead sharks! As for Lipah, it is the ideal site for beginners who have no diving experience: the visibility is excellent, the coral reefs sublime, moreover the place is totally adapted for snorkeling.
If you are already an expert, the island will offer you some nice drifts like off Candidasa, to the east. Know that you can also dive Bali at night: an original experience to live for an unforgettable session under the starry sky.
Did you know?Bali is a great diving spot and offers many schools for diving sessions under the watchful eye of a teacher. In addition, you can very easily find a French-speaking diving center in Bali. Without the language barrier, the coral reef is yours!

Nusa Penida, the island of manta rays
With a reef that has been protected for many years and corals of great beauty, the island of Nusa Penida is a diving spot worth visiting. The fauna is abundant and of great variety, but the highlight of your outings will surely be your encounter with a manta ray.
From Crystal Bay, it will be very easy to swim with this giant of the seas (which can measure up to 6 meters) living all year round in the unspoilt waters that bathe the island. Off the coast of Nusa Penida, the island of Nusa Lembongan will be the perfect diving spot in Indonesia to encounter a mola mola (moon fish) provided you plan your stay between August and October.
Did you know?In 1942, during the Second World War, the USS Liberty was hit by a Japanese torpedo. Long stranded on the beach of the village of Tulamben in northeast Bali, it ended up in the seabed after a volcanic eruption. Its wreck has since become an obligatory stopover for anyone who comes to Bali to dive.

Bintan Island, diving trips away from it all

In the north of the Indonesian archipelago, the island of Bintan offers an intimate setting to evolve in the heart of sites of great variety. The region's must-see diving spot is located 10 minutes off the east coast, on White Sands Island, an uninhabited island renowned for its white sandy beaches, crystal clear waters and sea bed preservation program.

Head to Sunfish Cove for snorkeling and scuba diving to discover the clownfish, cuttlefish, harlequin gaterin, shad and even reef sharks that inhabit the long, shallow sandy expanses of this dive spot.

Beginner or advanced, with a tank or just for snorkeling, diving in Indonesia offers a multitude of possibilities and colorful surprises.

SNORKELING SESSION AT PULAU MENJANGAN

You will never cease to be amazed by the legendary falling of Pulau Menjangan, famous for its coral walls. Surrounded by a dozen dive sites, the experience is fantastic: emblematic tropical fish, soft corals, caves and spectacular drop offs, as well as excellent visibility. It's hard here to resist the charm of parrotfish and clownfish, and not to be impressed sometimes by whales or manta rays. Most of the sites are close to the shore and are suitable for beginners, while the more experienced can venture into the depths by descending spectacular drop-offs.

With its warm waters, huge coral reefs and fabulous marine life, diving in Indonesia has everything to please. Indonesia is also volcanic relief, tiered rice fields and authentic culture. The country seduces nature lovers and fans of water activities and outdoor sports.
