Horseshoe cirque

A well-kept secret lies at the bottom of the Giffre Valley. Venture beyond Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval, the last village, to enjoy a family walk with breathtaking views on the largest glacial cirque in the Alps. Towering up to 2,000 metres high, around 30 waterfalls appear along these spectacular semicircular cliffs while the ice is melting.

Take the Grand Massif Express down the valley to Samoëns. This Savoyard town, world famous since the 17th century for its stone masons bursts with character from its typical chalets to its pristine surroundings. Stroll through the bustling market, strike a pose in front of the iconic 15th-century lime tree, and explore the Jaÿsinia Alpine botanical garden.
