Adventure is Out There: Get Your Adrenaline Flowing in Mexico

Do you enjoy the thought of a slow-paced holiday, lazing around and sipping cocktails in the sun? Or are you someone who thinks this would be hell rather than heaven? If you’re a keen daredevil then read on. Everyone else should go and discover all the amazing things that the Maldives have to offer while we talk about the craziest activities to try on adventure holidays in Mexico.

Surf’s up

Got the need for big waves? Fancy yourself as Keanu in Point Break? Surfing in Mexico is a popular activity with an ocean’s worth of inviting breaks and swells on the coast. Some of the best beaches for surfing in Mexico are Cuyutlán and Boca de Pascuales in Colima, and Playa Ballenas and Playa Delfines in Cancún. If you’re a surfing novice, there are often beginner classes allowing you to learn from the experts before diving in. It’s a sure fire way to get your fitness fix on holiday, with so many undiscovered surf spots and warm water temperatures.

Hit the heights

Wheeeeeeeee! Head to the jungle and experience some of the fastest monster zip lines and the most spectacular bungee jumping locations in Mexico. Conquer your fear of heights or simply find an adventure in the skies. There are many adventure parks in Cancún and the surrounding area that offer the chance to try bungee jumping or zip lining. Remember: never look down.

Cave diving

If you love exploring, the caves in Playa Del Carmen offer plenty of mysterious underground spaces to discover. The area is perfect for cave diving, primarily due to the existence of sixty-five million year old craters filled with water! Explore a world of submerged caverns full of clear water, stalagmites, stalactites and marine life. Don’t have too many tacos at lunch so you can fit through a few tight spaces.

Scuba diving

Swim with the fishes. Scuba diving in Mexico is always a popular activity for visitors, with crystal clear waters with plenty of natural coral reefs to explore. Cancún National Marine Park even boasts an underwater museum (the tickets get a little soggy)! Created in 2009, it provides divers with an interesting location to meet the sea life whilst helping to protect the existing coral. For an extra kick, choose sites that are populated by sting rays and nurse sharks and feel that adrenaline start to pump.

Fly like a bird

Okay, so you’re a major thrill-seeker activity. Try a beach skydive for an exhilarating experience like no other. Jump out of a plane at 10,000 feet, relax with a 40 second freefall then sail for eight minutes with a parachute. Taking in the spectacular views across the coastline, you’ll land on the beach with a sense of real sense of satisfaction and the need to do it again, and again.

So, if you’re the adventurous type rather than a beach bum give these adrenaline-fuelled Mexican activities ago. And send us some pics!
