Relationship coach and psychologist, Sam Owen, has shared her top tips to help couples scratch the 7-year itch while Club Med has launched a competition whereby couples who have been in a relationship for seven years are in with the chance of winning the ultimate holiday to reconnect.

If you haven’t heard of the 7-year itch, it’s the idea that long-term couples tend to fall into a relationship slump after they’ve been together for seven years. Of course, not every couple will experience this. But if you think the 7-year itch is just another old wives' tale, relationship expert and psychologist, Sam Owen, actually says otherwise and shares her top tips for couples to ensure their relationship stays strong after seven years. Want to bring back that honeymoon feeling? Club Med is launching a competition where one lucky couple will have the chance to win a free all-inclusive bespoke holiday to reconnect.

All you have to do to apply is share your favourite couple holiday picture or video on social media by using the hashtag #7yearitchholiday and tagging @clubmed on Instagram or @clubmeduk on Facebook or Twitter.

How to apply

To be in with a chance of winning, entrants need to follow the three steps below:

Have a flick through your couple holiday photos and pick your favourite (with or without kids).
Share it with Club Med UK on social by following and tagging @clubmed on Instagram or @clubmeduk on Facebook or Twitter using the hashtag #7yearitchholiday.
If contacted, provide proof that you will be celebrating your 7th year anniversary between 2021 and 2022.

The winning couple will be picked at random at the end of the application period. Applications close on December 12th 2021.

We’ll contact you and tell you the good news! Between us, we’ll work out where you’ll go on your special romantic holiday. When the arrangements are made, you’ll just need to wait for your flight date. So, what are you waiting for? The #7yearitchholiday could be one photo away.

The prize includes:
• Superior room accommodation
• Return economy flights
• Return group transfers

• One couple Spa treatment
• All meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks) inside the resort included as part of the standard package
• All drinks included as part of the standard package
• Available land and water sports included as part of the standard package
• Evening entertainment

The prize excludes:
• Travel between the winner’s home and the airport
• Alternative premium room types
• Meals or snacks outside the Resort
• A la carte dishes available at extra cost
• Premium drinks including premium sprits and Champagne available at extra cost
• Land and water sports charged at extra costs, depending on services provided by the resort
• Spa and excursion services – unless pre-agreed by Club Med before departure
• Visas
• Travel insurance

Please claim your prize by e-mailing marianne.lannoy@clubmed.com, attaching the congratulations letter you were given when you won the prize. The prize should be claimed directly by the winner without a 3rd party involved. The prize as described is available on the date of publication. Should the prize become unavailable, a substitute of equal value shall be provided. The holiday will be confirmed via email with the sending of a sales agreement which will outline the details of the holiday.

A total of one x 7-night Club Med all-inclusive sun holiday for a couple or a family of four maximum (2 adults and 2 children under 18 years old), including flights and transfers. The winner will be given a choice of dates and resorts.
If you are unavailable, the prize will be forfeited and given to another entrant.
Applications are open to all couples who will celebrate their 7 years relationship/wedding anniversary in 2022. Club Med reserves the right to ask for proof such as a wedding certificate or dated evidence such as pictures.
The holiday must be taken by 31st December 2022.
You may apply for this competition by posting a picture on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram of you, as a couple, on holiday (including or excluding children), tagging and following Club Med (@ClubMedUK on Facebook and Twitter / @clubmed on Instagram) and using the hashtag #7yearitchholiday.
By submitting pictures for this competition, you are granting Club Med permission to use them on Club Med’s own social media platforms and website.
During the holiday, the winning couple will be asked to share pictures and videos of their visit on their social media platforms, tagging Club Med and using #7yearitchholiday.
Applications for this competition close on 03 January 2022. Any entries made after this date will not be counted.
The competition winner will be announced on 10 January 2022. There will be one winner.
Competition open to residents of the UK only.
Blackout dates for travel will be 12th to 26th February 2022 & 17th to 31st December 2022.
