As of 23 September, the Japanese government has reviewed its border policy. The borders will be open for individual foreign tourists visa-free from 11 October.
The daily cap will be lifted and travelling to Japan will no longer require ERFS documents.

Japan still require to have the official International Travel Vaccination Certificate issues by the Australian Federal Government. This certificate must display you have had 3 doses.

As part of your Club Med package, covid-19 medical cover is included to the value of €75,000.

Will I be expected to log where and when I ski and/or report my whereabouts daily?

As per the latest announcement (made 07 September by the Japanese Government), clients need to download the MYSoS App and record their movements, similar to the Australian state approved tracking apps. Is the Japan Government recognising all Covid-19 Vaccines?

As per the latest announcement (made 23 September by the Japanese Government), tourists (aged 18years or over) wishing to enter Japan are required to have the official International Travel Vaccination Certificate issues by the Australian Federal Government. This certificate must display you have had 3 doses.

As per the latest announcement (made 07 September by the Japanese Government), only the below vaccines are approved.

  • COMIRNATY intramuscular injection / Pfizer
  • Spikevax intramuscular injection / Moderna
  • Vaxzevria intramuscular injection / AstraZeneca
  • JCOVDEN intramuscular injection / Janssen
  • COVAXIN / Bharat Biotech
  • Nuvaxovid intramuscular injection / Novavax

COMIRNATY intramuscular injection / Pfizer includes COMIRNATY RTU intramuscular injection / Pfizer. For the JCOVDEN intramuscular injection/Janssen, only in case of primary series, one dose is considered equivalent to two doses. ※ Doses will also be considered valid even if each dose are not the same vaccine. For example, COMIRNATY manufactured by Fosun Pharma or BioNTech, Covishield and COVOVAX manufactured by the Serum Institute of India are treated as identical to COMIRNATY intramuscular injection / Pfizer, Vaxzevria intramuscular injection / AstraZeneca and Nuvaxovid intramuscular injection / Novavax, respectively.

Do children need to have 3 covid-19 vaccines?

As per the latest announcement (made 23 September by the Japanese Government), children travelling with an adult who has had 3 vaccinations does not need to have 3 doses.

Do I need specific covid insurance to travel to Japan?

As per the latest announcement (made 23 September by the Japanese Government), tourist need to ensure they have medical insurance coving covid-19 to the value of 75,000€. As part of the Club Med all-inclusive Package, Conid-19 Medical Cover is now included for departures until December 2023.

Will I be expected to conduct a pre-departure PCR test?

As per the latest announcement (made 23 September by the Japanese Government), only tourists aged 18 years or above, who do not have a valid Covid-19 Vaccination Certificate detailing they have had 3 covid-19 vaccines, will be required to have a PCR test. For these clients the PCR test must be conducted within 72 hours of arrival until less as disputed by their arrival airline. We suggest all clients check the details outlined by their chosen airline to ensure they comply with all requirements.

What do I do if I can’t find flights to match my Club Med check-in/ check-out dates?

Following the news, the Japanese Borders are opening to international tourists, we understand airlines are upweighting their services. We encourage clients to regularly check the flight connection from Australia to the Club Med resorts.

In the instance whereby flights do not match your Club Med accommodation check-in/ check-out dates, Club Med can amend the booking by +/- 7 days either side, free of charge as long as the holiday seasonality remains as per the original dates. This is subject to availability.

Are you allowing clients to rebook to 2023/24 due to current flight schedules?

Following the news the Japanese Borders are opening to international tourists, we understand airlines are upweighting their services. We encourage clients to regularly check the flight connection from Australia to the Club Med resorts in Japan.

Flight availability or price does not fall under our Peace of Mind policy.

What should I do if I have or plan on booking a city stopover (in Tokyo or Osaka) for example)?
