Windsurfing

Besides its breathtaking beauty, the ocean surrounding Ishigaki islands offers an all year round marine playground. Get active and discover one of the best windsurfing spots in Asia in winter or kayak around the wide-open seas where endless clear waters stretch out in every direction in summer. For Windsurfing, take a guided lesson or head out on your own and feel the breeze in your hair. Sail in grace in our glass-bottom kayaks as the stunning diversity of the underwater world unfolds beneath you. G.Ms must be at least 6 years old (Glass Bottom Kayak) or 8 years old (Windsurfing) to participate and all levels of experience are welcome. It’s all part of your Ishigaki Island experience! Windsurfing season is from November to April. Glass Bottom Kayaks are available from May to October.

Underwater Encounter

Snorkel or dive with the mantas - Uncover the underwater marvels of the Ishigaki reefs. Meet the manta rays. Club Med Kabira Ishigaki is renowned for its access to some of the best scuba diving and snorkelling spots, and incredible interactions with beautiful manta rays. The resort is strategically located 300 meters away by boat, only 5 minutes from the crystal-clear waters of the most famous manta spots in all of Japan. Take a group scuba diving lesson to discover renowned diving spots, including Manta Scramble and Manta City for the mantas, and Kabira Ishigaki, Yonehara Wreet Minami, and Ungankazi Kita to see colourful corals, sea creatures, and light house views. You’ll dive into crystal clear waters and uncover an underwater world brimming with sea life. Or, enjoy a snorkelling lesson in the lagoon for an up-close encounter with the incredible underwater world. Enjoy these underwater pursuits during the months when Okinawa weather is at its best, from mid-April to the end of October. Savour Okinawan cuisine, a key to longevity - Discover the local specialities and cooking techniaues of this Pacific Island gem Visit the Okinawa corner of our main restaurant to sample from a selection of healthy, local, and traditional specialties. Take it to the next level and join our local Japanese chef to learn about and taste the authentic flavours of Okinawa’s pristine Ishigaki Island. You’ll learn to prepare a selection of local specialties including yaeyama soba noodles, soki, colorful chiraushi sushi, mimiga, fried local gurukun, juicy rice pork, seared beef tataki, one-pot oden, mozuku, and goya campuru. There is so much to discover and delight from. Discover the secrets to longevity through the traditional, healthful dishes of this storied land during this exclusive lesson offered twice weekly.

Sanshin lessons

Make music - Turne in to Okinawan traditions with a sanshin instrument lesson Be immersed twice a week in the sights and sounds of one of Okinawa’s most beautiful island destinations with a guided sanshin lesson. This authentic Okinawan musical instrument, often likened to a banjo, is typically made with snakeskin and has 3 strings for plucking. Enjoy the music and feel the traditions as Sanshin Sensei Yuko San, from the city of Ishigaki, shares this enriching art form with you. You may also schedule a private lesson to better develop your artistic side. *Additional charges may apply.
