With the Maldives being surrounded by the Indian Ocean, you can expect to have a wide range of water activities to choose from. In fact, there are so many things to do in the Maldives that you might not have enough time to go through all of them in one vacation. At Club Med Maldives, we offer a long list of water sports that are sure to satisfy all holiday-goers from kids to the diving enthusiast.

Learn How to Sail

Learn how to sail and be the captain of your own sailboat. If you've always fancied sailing around the world, you can try your hand at handling a small catamaran in the Maldives. We have group lessons so you can learn how to harness the wind and sail in just a few days, with classes open to children from six years old. If you're an experienced and proficient sailor, you can even borrow a catamaran and sail on your own.

Go Waterskiing and Wakeboarding

No beach resort holiday is complete without skimming over the waves on a waterski. If you're after even more of an adrenaline rush, you can try wakeboarding. Whether you're a total beginner or experienced at water sports, you can enjoy these activities with the help of our instructors. If you want the ultimate excitement without leaving your resort, then this is your answer.

Surf on Maldivian Waves

The Maldives is a world-class surfing destination that sees surfers from all over the world coming to conquer the waves every year. The ideal surfing time is during the monsoon season from May to the end of October, when you have exciting waves around the archipelago. At Club Med, beginners and surfing enthusiasts alike can enjoy surfing as we offer beginners' surfing lessons and group surfing outings.

Scuba Dive in Maldives' Magical Underwater World

Scuba diving is among the best things to do in the Maldives. With the unique marine wildlife and geography, you'll have an unforgettable experience when you dive here. Club Med Kani and Finolhu Villas provide a range of diving packages including PADI beginners' diving course, advanced diving course, and various diving packages. You can get your PADI certification with experienced instructors here and even go on a week-long diving expedition with experts.

Snorkelling

Besides scuba diving, snorkelling is also a great way to enjoy the beauty of Maldives' marine life. There are numerous shallow snorkelling spots close to our resorts and they're perfect for everyone who can swim. We also provide initiation group lessons for beginners and children from eight years old, so this is one activity you can enjoy with the whole family.

Sail in a Glass Bottom Kayak

Glide over the clear Maldivian water in a kayak and enjoy some quiet time. You can paddle on your own, or have a friend in the kayak with you as you go on your own adventure around our resort. Besides regular kayaks, we also have glass bottom kayaks that allow you to see the rich marine ecosystem beneath your feet. Our kayaks are open to children as young as six years old, so you can take your kids on a safe marine adventure they won't forget.

Hop on a Giant Stand Up Paddle

For a unique experience on the water, hop on our paddleboards. We have regular-sized and giant stand up paddleboards, so you can have fun on the water with even a large group of friends. This close ancestor of the modern surfboard is wide and stable on the water, allowing you to stand on it and paddle through the waves. Once you try it, it'll probably be your favourite water activity in the Maldives.

Our Club Med Maldives resorts are surrounded by beautiful waters and excellent diving and snorkelling spots. We've even invested in artificial reefs to preserve the local ecosystem, which you can visit on your snorkelling trip. If you've always wanted to enjoy a holiday on the Maldives' pristine beach and waters, go ahead, book your stay with us.
